Avocado Farm Hand


Job Description

Starting mid-end of September, an avocado orchard in the Pemberton area of Western Australia (4.5 hours South of Perth) require 40x Farm Hands.

Duties each day may include:

– Picking avocadoes

– Packing avocadoes

– Pruning trees

– Spraying

– General orchard maintenance work

– For picking work, there will be some work at heights, so applicants must be comfortable working on and operating an Elevated Work Platform machine.

The work is available for a duration of 5 to 6 months. There will be an average of 30 hours of work available per week.

The pay rate will be $25.17

This is inline with the Horticulture Award 2020 as a casual employee.

Hours of work are generally from 7am until 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, with the occasional weekend work.

The work you will be doing is hard and physically demanding.

You will be working outdoors mostly in mixed climatic conditions ranging from cold and wet conditions to hot and humid conditions.

Applicants should be in good physical condition to do this work.
